General
We are conveniently located just North of Healdsburg, right off Highway 101, next to Francis Ford Coppola Winery. Our lavender fields are nestled on our family’s fourth-generation vineyard in beautiful Alexander Valley, CA. It’s an enchanting, working farm surrounded by vineyards, hills, and the rhythms of country life.
Our regenerative farming approach is grounded in soil science, water conservation, and ecosystem function. We use green mulching between lavender rows and plant diverse cover crops to reduce erosion, increase soil organic matter, and enhance nitrogen and carbon cycling. These practices improve soil structure, microbial activity, and the soil’s capacity to retain moisture during heavy winter rainfall events. We intentionally avoid plastic row covers, which are commonly used in lavender production, to prevent plastic waste and to support beneficial insect populations and soil-surface biodiversity. Water use is carefully managed through targeted irrigation; each field block and individual row is controlled by dedicated valves, allowing irrigation to be adjusted precisely based on plant demand and seasonal conditions. In addition, we incorporate rotational grazing with sheep and goats to manage weeds, recycle nutrients, and stimulate biological activity in the soil, further contributing to long-term soil health and system resilience.
