ABOUT US
Purple Hills Lavender Farm is located on a fourth generation vineyard, - the Stone Ranch. It is nestled in the heart of the renowned wine grape growing region Alexander Valley,. where the beauty of lavender harmonizes with the allure of wine country. Our farm offers a serene escape, inviting you to immerse yourself in the tranquility of our lavender fields and spectacular views of beautiful vineyard rows and Mount St. Helena.
Samantha Howard, the owner/farmer has dreamed of creating a farm space for over two decades. This dream became a reality when her fiancé, Andrew Furlong,- the owner and farm manager of the family vineyard at The Stone Ranch, removed several acres of grapevines. Selecting the highest quality lavender varieties for both beauty and use that could be thoughtfully farmed with harmony in nature was critical when deciding what should be planted in the Mediterranean like climate. There are 8 varieties that are planned for Purple Hills Lavender Farm learn more about these unique varieties and their uses here.
Samantha is also a retired veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and passionate about supporting new and emerging farmers as evidenced by her and fiancé Andrew's pursuit to lease available farm land to newcomers as microfarming opportunities.
