This is our founding season, and our farm is just beginning to take shape. While our lavender fields are currently a smaller planting, they’re full of fragrance, beauty, and promise for the seasons ahead.
We’ve created a space to slow down, wander, and enjoy simple moments in nature on the vineyard.
We’re so happy you’re here at the very beginning.
ABOUT US
Purple Hills Lavender Farm sits on The Stone Ranch, a fourth-generation vineyard in the heart of Alexander Valley. Surrounded by vineyard rows and views of Mount St. Helena, it’s a quiet corner of Sonoma County where you can slow down and take in Wine Country at an easy pace.
Our lavender fields are being grown with care and intention and will continue to fill in over time. For now, they offer a simple, peaceful place to walk, enjoy the views, and experience the farm as it takes shape. We offer four varieties of lavender and are growing into eight varieties in the coming seasons. Learn more about them here.
Our farm shop features small-batch, handcrafted lavender products made right here on the property. You’re welcome to bring a picnic or a favorite local wine and settle in at one of our tables to enjoy the afternoon.
Purple Hills Lavender Farm is proudly woman- and veteran-owned. Owner and farmer Samantha Howard, a retired U.S. Coast Guard veteran, has held the vision for a farm space for more than two decades. It came to life alongside her fiancé, Andrew Furlong, the vineyard farmer continuing his family’s long stewardship of the land. Together, they are shaping something new while honoring what came before, and are committed to supporting the next generation of agriculture by offering small-scale microfarming opportunities on the remaining available land at The Stone Ranch.
This is a working farm, growing and evolving with each season. We’re glad to share it with you.
